Does anyone find it as surreal as me? A wall of professionally bagged marijuana. With like, logos and barcodes and stuff.

It’s so strange. What are the prices like at real shops, anyways? I tried getting my friend in Washington to check, but he refuses to set foot in one.

generally $45 for an 1/8th of an ounce. Thats just a little more than $12/gram here in San Francisco.

I actually didn't look at the prices because I didn't want to buy anything (a conversation with the wife has to happen first). But the website was advertising $7 gram deals. Looks like between $25 and $50 an eighth.

I’ve never been in one but my uncle described it to me and it just seems so unreal that you aren’t hiding to buy it, almost normal.

Exactly. Which is fine. I'm all for taxing it. It's a great income source for states to fill budget gaps. Regulations in Washington are a little ridiculous though.

Cheap in Cali anyway. My uncle showed me the “menu” from his dispensary. 8ths are about $25-50 many times they have buy one 8th get one free. They have a rewards card too that you get points for each purchase. On Sundays they sometimes do a blow out sale on edibles that are about to go stale.

That’s surprisingly reasonable. Street prices usually run about the same, $45/eighth, $80-90/quarter. Not that I would know anything about that. :)

Start his own brand, call it the best, slap a made in America sticker on it when in reality it is only processed by a couple people in the US and grown by families of underpaid workers in Mexico or further south.

I’m genuinely surprised recreational marijuana isn’t legal in California yet. Everyone smokes that shit for fun there anyway.

I was also totally surprised at how professional everything was. Considering that my only prior experience had been years before with super sketchy dealers or friends growing plants of questionable quality, I found the whole experience very positive overall.

I still felt like a criminal leaving with my brown baggie...

It was surreal the first time I went. So much so I had to turn around, and go home. It was the 1st legal day in Colorado, and the line was 200+ people long. I went back a month or so later after the initial frenzy was over. I was mesmerized by so many choices. I never had options before.

Actually he would probably set up a multi level marketing scam like his defunct vitamin brand where you mail in your pee and they send you pot optimized for your particular biology.

Not all of us. Many of us are drug tested to maintain our employment. I do wishould they’d legalize it, however, and tax the shit out of it.

It is definitely weird. It smells pretty good, too... Not as good as a bulk tea importer/shop, but definitely up there.

Mind you, I’ve never used it (or any illegal drug), but I don’t care if others do, as long as they do it responsibly.

It’d be a great way to fund desalination plants, which California admittedly needs.

Prices are higher, but quality is WAY higher since it’s basically botanists growing the plants in labs, not that shady guy down the street who grows it in his attic

Next thing they need to make, is a weed breathalyzer. Only then will employers understand the difference between being high on the job and high 3 weeks ago on a Saturday night at your home.

Some road repair would be nice too since the state continues to not generate enough income as-is to keep our roads maintained (or they just pilfer the money and allocate it elsewhere. This is probably more likely).

It’s wild! I’ve been to Amsterdam, but the shops in the US particularly Colorado are totally different. Just like you say (logo’s and bar codes) and the variety! Candy, Cookies, Soda, Gum ...! Then the people behind the counter can tell you what makes you go up, go down, laugh, sleep, anxiety...

I was in CO for my bachelor party a few months ago. I walked into a shop and the guy asked if he could be of assistance. I said “I’m from Philly, it’s my first time.” He laughed and said “ok, let me give you a few minutes to take it all in.”

Truth be told, doesn't making recreational weed legal make cops lives easier? I'm sure they'd rather not waste their time dealing with petty bullshit like that. I'm sure the cops during prohibition felt the same way once alcohol was allowed to be manufactured and sold again.

Haven’t tried that yet. I usually keep two indica and two sativa on hand. Right now I’ve got Blue Cheese, Permafrost and Pineapple chunk. Smoked the Permafrost last night after a long hot day of yard work and it’s real nice. My wife was so ripped.

I’ve got some Girl Scout Cookies and a cartridge holding me down, I mostly only burn on weekends and use the vape on my day to day. Been burning for over a decade but my tolerance is still pretty low, I can’t finish a whole L to the face I’ll clip it at least once and come back to it later. Saves money tho!

My girls sister bakes edibles so she always holds me down with cookies and brownies but I can only eat those on days I'm not doing SHIT, pure couch lock.

Is that a good price? I suppose the pot they sell in legal shops is only the top-shelf stuff, where three puffs send you into the ozone.

Not legal in my dumb hick state. Not yet, maybe not ever. Dumb hick voters here in Florida are too stupid to do what everybody should have done forty years ago.

The pot here is consistently really good. Bottom shelf stuff can be really cheap too, around ~25$ for an 1/8th.

All I can say is florida’s time is soon to come. Until then, just make trips to pot friendly states.
